Philippe Munn has practiced martial arts and Japanese and Chinese health exercises since 1976. He has intensively practised several styles of karate-do, in which he graduated with varying degrees of black belts. Karate-do constitutes the base of his research and his practice in his early training. He studies the taiji quan as well as other styles of wu shu (Chinese martial arts), disciplines which he has taught for several years.

He has become the student of grand master Guo Guizhi of the dacheng quuan school of chinese martial arts. He is one of the founding members and the president of the dachengchuan-canada group.

An impassioned teacher, he offers his courses to the public. Philippe currently teaches in his private school, and in St-Hyacinthe within the framework of a special activity for the personnel of the University of Montreal School of Veterinary Medicine (faculté de médecine vétérinaire de l’université de Montréal).
